Mountain Mauve

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the colors, the sound of acorns crunching underneath my feet, and the cold breeze blowing across my face. Since getting to college, I think my favorite thing to do in the fall is take long drives through the mountains. I love to roll all the windows down, turn my music all the way up, and stick my arm out the window as I feel the cold air rushing over it, all while surrounded by beautiful oranges and reds. Nothing beats that. So that brings me to this post. Recently, me and some friends drove through the mountains and found this beautiful green field surrounded by hills. So of course, we decided to have a photoshoot here.

I found this free people dress on sale at T.J. Maxx. I think I first saw it about four years ago and have always wanted to buy it, but could never get myself to spend the money on it. So when I saw it on sale at T.J. Maxx, I was pumped. ***(This dress is currently on clearance at Free People so click this link to check it out before they’re gone!)*** It has a swingy silhouette and flowy cuffs. The mauve colored lace has a black thin border, adding to the details of it all. While this looks great as a short dress, throw on some jeans, add a belt, and tuck the front in, and you’ve got a completely new look.

I love the details throughout the dress, but I especially love the details around the neck. If you look closely, you can see how the lace sort of has a scalloped cutout. I absolutely love that. It is so delicate and tasteful. As I mentioned before, you can also see the black border of the mauve colored lace throughout the dress.

I threw on some brown suede boots with this dress and I was ready to go. This is my favorite kind of outfit.. Something you don’t have to think about and can just throw on and go anywhere in. You can dress it up or dress it down. Super easy and versatile.
